An original Art Nouveau piece, it is a tribute to Felicia the ferret, a real animal who helped clean and maintain the particle accelerator tubes at Fermilab’s Meson Lab in 1971. It blends science and nature with elegance and whimsy by featuring flowing lines, cosmic motifs, botanical elements like violets, and the spiral design of the diagram of the particle accelerator. At the center, Felicia is depicted against a starry sky, surrounded by intricate designs inspired by illustrations of particle physics.
