About the Artist

Mag has always had a passion for animals and art, with some of their first attempts at drawing using Zoobook illustrations for references. A North Texas native, they studied drawing and painting at the University of North Texas, but didn’t take art seriously until their late twenties when they became disabled.

Mag’s art is heavily inspired by the Victorian and Edwardian eras at the turn of the 19^th Century, especially the works from the Art Nouveau movement when the line between high art and illustration was blurred. Mag draws from the classics, but tells modern stories, depicts modern values, and uses modern digital techniques to create art that is accessible and approachable to all, regardless of artistic experience or financial status.
